Puppies and Playtime

Our Little Boy:

This week we have had a lot of changes and a lot of exciting stuff happen. Last Monday we got our little puppy Scout and he was only 5 weeks old. Yes I am talking about that little boy ;) I mean we all know the baby is going to be a girl. :) But he has been such a good little ray of sunshine in our lives. He is such a good puppy. He doesn't have accidents and he sleeps from 10 pm to 8 am (yes this is incredible I know). He is just so dang cute I wish you all could meet him and see him, as I am so sure it would bring you much happiness like he has done for us. He only had two teeth when we got him and over night they all grew in... It was very painful for us because now he is teething really bad. But we got him a few toys and try to remind him not to chew on us but of course hes still a baby so he has a hard time even understanding what we're saying. We took him for his first shots and asked the vet a lot of questions. Luckily Josh is one of those people that over researches EVERYTHING so we are always well prepared with weird and sometimes unimportant questions. But that is what I love about him. :) The vet told us he seems really really healthy for being weened so young and that he probably won't get much bigger then he is now which is a whoppin' 2 lbs. We also found out that puppies can't see very well when they are this young just like kittens that is why they have a hard time training. We can tell he can't see very well yet because he runs into things and then it scares him and he jumps away like he's all tough. It is so funny to watch him play it is like a little toy and he is bow legged so he runs all funny. He is just so precious. I just love him and he makes me proud with every little milestone he hits so I cannot wait to know how it is going to feel to have a child. So here's my proud mommy moment and I am going to post little puppy pictures of Scout.

I cannot figure out how to flip them but you get the idea :)
Little Munchkin Update:

Well these weeks have been a little more rough. I am pretty much nauseous all day everyday. I can eat beans, cheese (on occasion), vegetables (peppers, cucumbers, carrots), smoothies, and on a really really good day saltines. Pretty much everything else makes me gag or throw up. I am taking Zofran for my nausea and it helps but it gives me massive headaches and super bad constipation. TMI I know. We go in for our first ultra sound on the 24th so that is really exciting! I can hardly wait. I just want to know that everything is going okay because I worry about it all the time.

This week I am 8 weeks but i'll give you an update for both 7/8 weeks:

The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.

Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

My Starting weight was 100.6 lbs.

8 Week Weight is: 102.4

I am starting to feel a difference in my belly most likely because really any changes to my body are noticeable to me. My stomach is really hard and my pants are tight probably from the bloating but its still crazy!!

I do not have an 8 week picture yet since I take them on Tuesdays but here is my 7 week one not much of a difference :)

Lastly I would like to just share my spiritual thought for the week :) I was reading an article about this girl who's video of her singing to her baby went viral here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFdjQP-5y7w but this lady was debating whether or not to get an abortion. She says that as she was sitting in the clinic she got so many signs from God not to do it. She did not end up going through with it obviously but what really touched me was how strong her faith was even though she did not think she could raise a child all by herself. The woman at the abortion clinic actually told her the second you see your babies face you will be so glad you walked out of here today. The scripture that this reminds me of is Joshua 1:5,9 ‘I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. … Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest’
I love this verse because I think so many time we are so unsure of things in life that are happening and we are not sure that we can make it through. But I think this verse really helps me to remember that Gods plan is bigger then our own and that, like this lady with her child who she now loves more then anything, we can be guided in the most difficult of times.

I love you guys watch this video it is so funny. :) and kind of weird.

Our Sealing and Open House

Little Munchkin:

This last month has been extremely crazy. But so much fun. On the 21st as you all know we found out we were pregnant. It was a HUGE shock but a HUGE blessing. We are so excited and we will post frequent updates on here as well as baby bump pictures. :) There obviously isn't a huge difference quite yet. But I have gained a couple pounds and my wedding dress is tight on my belly i almost couldn't zip it up. So that was scary. I have been feeling a little under the weather so far but mostly I think it is from my pre natal vitamin. We are luckily in a pretty good financial situation so far since both of us are working and we have full tuition scholarships. We are super excited to find out what we are having. Right now we have a pretty even split of who thinks we are having what. But Josh really thinks it is a boy and I really think it is a girl so we will see who it right :). Although I am sure all of you know what happens in the developmental stages of a baby I do not so I will track it here.

Week 6:

Major Developments: This week the nose, mouth, and ears are beginning to take shape. If I could see inside my uterus I would find an oversized head and dark spots where my baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. The ears are also marked by small little dents on the sides of the head and the arms and legs are little buds.

This week little munchkin is the size of a Lentil.... Yes a teensy tiny lentil. Week 5 is was a sesame seed and week 4 was a poppy seed. That is so tiny!! How does something that small grow into a baby human! it is crazy to me.
ONLY 236 DAYS TO GO!!
Sealing and Open House:
So this week Josh and I had the great opportunity to go to the Rexburg Temple and be sealed. A sealing is performed in the temple to unite a husband, wife, and their children eternally. It was so beautiful. It was really cool because I am sure you know that really beautiful feeling you get when you get married and the connection you feel with your spouse. Well we got lucky because we got to experience that twice. Once at our wedding and once in our sealing. It was also really cool because the church is really big on the family and we were able to actually know about our child in my belly at that time. I included pictures of the temple below and a brief description about what each room is used for. I thought you guys would want to see the room we got sealed in :)

The Sealing Room:

This is a picture of the sealing room where couples are sealed for time and all eternity.
The Baptismal Font:

In the Bible, Jesus taught about baptism. Because many people do not have the opportunity to be baptized in this life, the fonts in temples are used by the living to be baptized in behalf of those who have died. The baptismal font rests on the backs of 12 oxen, following a tradition dating back to the Temple of Solomon that is described in the Old Testament. The oxen represent the 12 tribes of ancient Israel.
The Celestial Room:

The celestial room symbolizes the exalted and peaceful state that all may achieve through living the gospel of Jesus Christ. This room represents the contentment, inner harmony, and peace available to eternal families in the presence of Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Finally my baby bump:
6 week bump.... well really not there

Here is also a picture at our sealing :)

Love you all!!
